CALMER WATERS

New Organisation Tackles Children's Mental Health through Fishing Therapy Calmer Waters, who is the sister organisation of North West Angling Academy CIC is launching this October.
The initiative is taking the world of mental health treatment for children and young people by storm as Calmer Waters announces  its official launch.
The organisation aims to provide support and therapy for children and young people with mental health
issues through the therapeutic power of fishing.
Mental health issues among children have become an increasingly concerning problem in our society, affecting their overall well-being, development, and quality of life.
Recognising the need for unique and effective solutions, Calmer Waters has been founded to harness the therapeutic benefits of fishing to promote healing, resilience, and growth in children facing these challenges.
Fishing therapy, also known as piscatorial therapy, has gained recognition for its positive impact on mental health. Spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and engaging in a calming, repetitive activity like fishing can reduce stress and anxiety,
boost self-esteem, and improve overall mental well-being. By blending these benefits with professional well-being angling coaches’ guidance, Calmer Waters offers a holistic approach to supporting children's mental health.
Key Features of Calmer Waters:
1. Professional Guidance: Calmer Waters has a team of experienced, qualified and licenced angling coaches who specialise in working with children. These experts combine their knowledge with the therapeutic aspects of fishing to create a comprehensive and effective treatment approach.
2. Nature-Based Therapy: Through carefully designed fishing sessions, children can reconnect with nature, learn essential life skills, and develop emotional resilience in a supportive and calming environment.
3. Customised Programs: Calmer Waters tailors its programs to meet the unique needs of each child. Whether a child is struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other mental health issues, the organisation's individualised approach ensures that they
